My Story

Smile Photography was born from a deep love for working with children, being immersed in nature, and exploring the art of photography.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to become a teacher, and in the years leading up to that goal, I worked with children at a variety of camps, both locally and internationally. My journey eventually led me to a position as a camp director at an international outdoor leadership camp in Switzerland. There, I fell in love with the breathtaking beauty of the Swiss Alps, which inspired me to make a promise to myself: the next time I returned, I would know how to use a "real" camera. Since that moment, I haven’t put the camera down. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a passion, and that passion has since evolved into a fulfilling second career.

Throughout my life, I've learned the importance of making the most of every opportunity. As a tall, goofy individual, I thrive on making people smile and laugh, especially during photo shoots. I am loud, energetic, and genuinely excited to capture authentic moments between you and your loved ones. Working with children is especially rewarding for me—I love connecting with them during the shoot, and I’m often told they continue talking about me long after our session. For me, this is the highest compliment, as it means I’ve built a real connection with them. These genuine moments result in the best smiles and, in turn, the best photos.

Over the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing everything from farm produce and livestock to newborns and weddings. Regardless of the subject, my passion for photography drives me to always deliver the best results for my clients.
